Inspired by the clients’ love of nature and their personal photo, much of the raw stone material came from the family collection or gathered from local sites. Glass smalti was added to enhance the color palette throughout the design.

MATERIALS

Mosaic: Various marble, rock, fossil, and mineral specimens including bloodstone, Brazilian cat’s eye opal, brecciated yellow jasper, koi jasper, ocean jasper, rainforest jasper, snakeskin jasper, Colorado avonite, Picasso marble, grape opalite, flint, hyperstein, petrified palm wood, Petoskey stone; and Mexican and Italian smalti.

Framework: Hand-welded powder-coated steel.
